Setup Your Own Router

1. Confirm that your router is compatible:

To begin with, confirm that your Router is fiber-compatible by consulting the user manual. Verify that your Router can handle the speed you have selected if you have a fibre package with internet rates of more than 100 Mbps.

2. Connect your Router

Connect your router to Port1, LAN1 or GE1 on your Fibre Box (ONT) using an Ethernet cable.

3. Connect your Power

Connect the power cord to your Router and wall socket. Turn on the power at the wall. It may take a couple of minutes to boot up and connect.

4. Open a web browser

Open a web browser and enter the default IP address of your router in the address bar. The default IP address can usually be found in the router's user manual or by searching online for the make and model of your router.

5. Login to your Router

Enter the default login credentials for your router. These can also be found in the router's user manual or by searching online.
Configure the WAN settings of your router to match the settings below. This includes entering a PPPoE username and password, as well as setting the connection type to Dynamic IP.

  • PPPoE Username and Password: This will be provided when your Wicked Internet Connection goes live.

  • Incoming Interface: VLAN10

  • Dynamic IP: Enabled

6. Save the changes

Save the changes and reboot your router.

7. Test your connection

Test your internet connection to ensure that it is working properly.
